Overall I never give 5* on much & this is not quite worthy of 5 but it won't let me do 4.75 of 5 & the reason is the stupid safety switch to start the saw, instead of being like almost every other saw on the market, it is a slide instead of a direct push in. Otherwise it is light & well balanced even with a flexvolt battery.

Did everything I wanted it to do and what I expected I would give it all five stars it’s expensive but it’s well worth it

This is my first benchtop planer - and I'm a new woodworker - so it might be a little unfair for me to leave a review. But I'm going to anyways. This is my FAVORITE tool in my shop. I use it about 5% as much as my table saw or router, but it's my showpiece whenever friends stop by.Super easy to setup and use. I watched a couple of short YouTube videos before purchasing and unpacking - and that's all it took. Didn't even need to look at the manual (but did anyways). Added the height wheel - the in-and-out feed tables - and went to work!I've made a couple of cutting boards before owning this. The hand planing and sanding would take 30-60 minutes, at least, with this beauty I can run the boards through in about 5 mins, then jump straight to 180 grit. It's a dream. Some folks commented on the noise. I dunno. Seems fine to me. My electric hand planer is easily twice as loud. I don't mind it at all (though should still wear hearing protection in my video - but I was excited- what can I say!?)Go for it - I know it's $$$ - but it's worth it.

I ordered a vevor 13" planer which ended up a bust. It wouldn't even make a1mm cut on pecan. Needless to say I returned that turd and ended up buying the Dewalt DW735X and man let me tell you, this thing kicks some serious butt. I guess the lesson here is to buy the best to start with. I definitely recommend this planer. If you don't have the money, just hold on to the money you had to buy the piece of crap that was gonna buy and just wait till you have more money and buy this beast. Anything else..... well.....

The device was used upon arrival. Still had some saw dust in the chamber with the cutter head. NOT happy about this at all. If it was refurbished it could have at least been cleaned, and the product description should indicate it was refurbished. The depth indicator (the lever under the leading edge of the planer) is not very accurate. I don't know if that's why this ended up in my hands - I really thought I was buying a new-from-factory unit.I went ahead and tested the device (took everything I had to get this beast up on my assembly table; I wasn't going to let the opportunity pass).Did do a clean pass on a 1 1/2" piece of pine - finish was nice and smooth, with expected snipe on the tail end.Overall, the product is worthwhile for my needs. But again, very unhappy about getting a used (even if slightly) product. I'll have to think twice next time!Update Jan 2024: Been using for over a year and still works good. Snipe is guaranteed unless I use leading / trailing boards to prevent it, but the cut is still quite clean. I was worried since the device originally had evidence of use, I'm happy that it is working well.
